The Best Practices 2022 EXPO & Conference announced Dr. Michael B. Jones, Director of Corporate Energy, Intertape Polymer Group (IPG), as a Keynote Speaker of the Plenary Session. The Best Practices EXPO & Conference occurs October 4-6, 2022, at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jones’s presentation, Managing Operational Energy at Intertape Polymer Group, will discuss IPGs achievements in sustainability and energy management, being awarded ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in 2022, for the 7th consecutive year. The Plenary Session, on October 5th, is open to all EXPO, Exhibitor and Conference registrants.

Dr. Jones serves as the Director of Corporate Energy at Intertape Polymer Group (IPG) and has over 30 years of professional business experience in engineering and management. Dr. Jones manages the IPG Corporate Sustainability Team. Along with being recognized as the 2022 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for the 7th consecutive year, eight IPG facilities have met the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry, to reduce energy intensity by 10% over five years.
Dr. Jones recently led the effort to obtain ISO 50001 certification at IPG’s Danville Facility, while expanding the certification program corporately. Dr. Jones holds a degree in mechanical engineering technology from Old Dominion University, an M.B.A. from Averett University, and a D.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University. He earned a Six Sigma Master Black Belt from N.C. State and is a Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.) through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Dr. Jones currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce.
